The expendable model PBSPSET1 starts at 22.7 kg (50 lbs.) per dumbbell and can then be expanded with 2 kits. A kit adds 9 kg (20 lbs.) to each dumbbell, so a stage 2 is 5-70 (32 kg) and Stage 3 is 5-90 (40.8 kg). This is a great option for anyone who wants their set to grow with them.
The hand grip element contains two additional cylindrical weights which can be used to precisely adjust the load of the weight training.
